Need help finding a book-details following?

I read about this book in an excerpt of another book. The excerpt had a girl A hiding in her lover's bedroom somewhere waiting for him when he walks in with another girl B and girl A is spotted somehow(?) She is mortified and runs out of the place. I think she is half dressed, I seem to remember she had a bra thrown over the clock whenever she was going to hide. I don't think she was completely naked when she discovered that. I'm pretty sure that the guy's bedroom was in an upscale apartment but I'm not completely positive. I know that this is a romance novel because I had read the excerpt in the back of another one. I'm pretty positive that this is a contemporary one but, I am positive that this isn't a historical one.
